Ed Bean, senior vice president and content editor of Poston Communications, will moderate the 3 p.m. panel discussion, featuring Georgia Supreme Court Presiding Justice Harold Melton, former Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears (now with Smith, Gambrell & Russell), George “Buddy” Darden of Pope McGlamry and Robert S. Highsmith Jr. of Holland & Knight. The panel will explore “Reflections on Georgia’s Judicial System and Supreme Court: The Road Traveled and Ahead.”
Other sessions will examine First Amendment cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, the proliferation of hate speech and charges of “fake news,” and a constitutional primer on sexual harassment issues.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will be the luncheon keynote speaker. The conference concludes with a moderated question-and-answer forum with candidates for Georgia governor.
