- Cristina Anderson, Poston Communications, PRSA Georgia, PRSA Georgia Chapter Champion, public relations
Cristina Anderson, vice president at Poston Communications, has been recognized by the Public Relations Society of America Georgia Chapter with the January 2018 Chapter Champion Award for her dedicated volunteer work.
The award recognizes PRSA Georgia members who have gone the extra mile in service to the chapter. Anderson leads the chapter’s Membership Committee’s outreach to new and returning members. Each week, she welcomes new members to the Georgia Chapter and invites prospective members to join. She regularly represents the chapter at In Your Neighborhood events and serves as a greeter at monthly chapter meetings.
Since joining PRSA in 1994, Anderson has served on the Georgia Chapter’s board of directors and chaired numerous committees, including the Georgia chapter 50th anniversary, awards banquet, public relations and college relations committees. She also has volunteered on two PRSA International Conference host chapter committees and has participated in resume critiques.
“The Georgia Chapter of PRSA has been invaluable throughout my career,” Anderson said. “Not only have the professional development and leadership opportunities helped me to grow as a public relations adviser, but my professional network has expanded to include mentors and colleagues who have become lifelong friends.”
Anderson’s career in public relations spans 20 years, including clients in commercial and residential real estate, retail, hospitality, health care and the not-for-profit sector. She began her career in the Office of Presidential Personnel at the White House and progressed through the ranks at advertising and public relations agencies prior to creating an independent firm in 2002. Cristina graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international politics.
