Jackie Labrecque, account supervisor at Poston Communications, is taking action for a cause close to her heart. Recently appointed to the Central and North Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association board of directors, Labrecque will provide leadership to fulfill the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association, enhancing concern and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease, raising money, advancing advocacy initiatives, accelerating research efforts, and providing care and support to those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Jackie Labrecque at Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Labrecque first connected with the Alzheimer’s Association in 2012 as her grandmother was courageously battling dementia. While her grandmother lost that battle just months after learning about the resources, care and support that was available to her family, Labrecque made it her mission to ensure others wouldn’t miss out on such a critical partner.
After joining forces with the Alzheimer’s Association, she became a co-chair of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s for the Miami Valley Chapter and helped lead and grow the walk for two years. When her family moved to Portland, Oregon, Labrecque continued her work advocating on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association by continuing to tell people’s stories while working as a news reporter there. She also joined the Oregon and SW Washington boards.
Now living in Central Florida and a member of the Poston Communications’ Crisis and Video teams, Labrecque is thrilled to support the Alzheimer’s Association as she helps tell this important story.
“I’m excited to continue my advocacy work, ensuring Floridians connect with the incredible, free resources available at the Alzheimer’s Association while also lobbying lawmakers and leaders to support essential research to find a cure. In my grandmother’s honor, I will never stop fighting for a world without Alzheimer’s disease,” Labrecque said.
Since its inception in 1980, the Alzheimer’s Association has led the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection and maximizing quality care and support.
