Ali Valdivia provides communications counsel to clients through her comprehensive understanding of their goals, values and business strategies. Drawing from her experience working within highly regulated industries, she thoughtfully anticipates risks that could negatively affect clients.
As a native Spanish speaker and first-generation college graduate, Ali applies a multicultural lens to every situation to help clients engage and reach a wider audience nationally and internationally. Through her bilingual pitching strategies, she has secured strong media coverage for clients in top-tier English and Spanish-language news outlets across the United States. Her passion and deep understanding for diversity and inclusion shine through in the teams and projects she leads.
Ali has worked as a senior associate at a global public relations firm within its corporate practice serving clients in highly regulated industries – most notably the U.S. military, for which she managed multiple partnerships related to its education initiatives and multicultural outreach programs. In this role, she briefed top military leaders, public affairs staff and local community leaders on the art of being an advocate for the military and driving positive change as part of the overall military recruiting mission. Additionally, she has experience in the financial services, litigation, health care, technology, accounting and real estate sectors.
Poston Communications is a homecoming for Ali, as she launched her PR career as an intern and moved quickly into an account executive role – working with multiple clients in the accounting and legal sectors and developing strong relationships with her clients’ target media.
Ali earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Georgia with a concentration in public relations and a minor in Spanish. She is active in the Atlanta Press Club, Latinx community and the Atlanta Girl Gang, a collaborative networking platform meant to inspire and encourage women in every aspect of life. Ali enjoys volunteering in organizations in the community, including the Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity and Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Outside of the office, Ali enjoys traveling the world, tasting the new culinary delights on the Atlanta Beltline, and spending time with family and friends.
