Megan Paquin is a trusted advocate for and strategic advisor to Poston Communications’ professional services and corporate clients. She brings more than a decade of strategic communications, crisis management and business psychology experience to her role, offering our clients a leading edge to effectively communicate with their stakeholders and maintain business value amid even the most trying circumstances.
As a communicator, Megan thrives in complex, high-stakes situations. She leads Poston Communications’ Crisis Communications and Litigation PR division, which has been recognized by Chambers and Partners as one of the top 20 crisis management and litigation support firms in the U.S. Additionally, Megan is a Ranked Individual in Band 4 of the Litigation Support Guide and Band 2 of the Crisis & Risk Management Guide. Clients interviewed by the guide’s researchers praise Paquin’s responsiveness and knowledge of the market and note that she is at the top of her game when it comes to advising law firms on public relations and crisis initiatives.
Megan has led diverse communications teams, including C-suite executives, general counsel and their outside counsel from some of the nation’s leading law firms, in matters involving mass torts, financial misconduct and fraud, securities violations, government investigations, discrimination, workers’ compensation, online defamation, product liability, public affairs, trade secrets violations, cybersecurity and data breach response, and other reputational, business and legal challenges. In every matter, she is focused on helping our clients view such challenges as opportunities and emerge stronger.
Some of the world’s largest brands have trusted Megan to lead their communications initiatives. She began her career with MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, coordinating major broadcast and international media relations for its iconic resort destinations. Her reputation for excellence and integrated marketing experience led to communications leadership roles with The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Then, at one of Florida’s most established integrated advertising agencies, Megan led the revitalization and advancement of its public relations practice and introduced its crisis communications program. She has developed numerous award-winning campaigns and secured countless top-tier media placements positioning clients for growth and influence in their target markets.
Megan is a Ph.D. candidate at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where her research is focused on cognitive bias and decision-making processes. There, she earned her master’s degree in behavioral economics and conducted research on the role and influence of access to data in health behavior. She is an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Florida’s Nicholson School of Communication and Media, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational communication. Megan holds an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and is a Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC). She was president of the Florida Public Relations Association’s Orlando Area Chapter and currently is a member of RIMS, the Risk Management Society’s External Affairs Committee.
An Orlando native, Megan loves spending time in her downtown neighborhood with her husband, two daughters, three dogs and two parakeets, all of whom occasionally make appearances in her Zoom meetings.
