Raychel Lean’s decade of experience in writing, editing and proofreading has taught her how to distill complex information into concise, engaging stories. She has produced public relations content for clients across multiple industries, served as a writing tutor in a range of academic fields, reported on South Florida litigation and managed ALM’s Daily Business Review.
As bureau chief for the Daily Business Review, Raychel wrote and edited articles on litigation, law firm management, real estate and business operations. She also managed a daily newspaper, served as a liaison to South Florida’s legal community and judged legal awards submissions across ALM.
Raychel is adept at conducting interviews and crafting story leads that pinpoint what the most significant element is and why it should matter to the reader. Her work has resulted in recognitions such as the Jesse H. NEAL Awards, the Green Eyeshade Awards and the Sunshine State Awards.
Raychel is from a small, coastal village in Northwest England, where she grew up writing scripts for imaginary TV news shows and daydreaming about moving abroad. She went on to attend Barry University in Miami, earning a bachelor’s degree in professional writing and literature, and becoming managing editor of the school newspaper. She also holds post-graduate certificates in writing from the University of Warwick and global history from the University of Birmingham.
In addition to writing for work, Raychel also writes for fun. She runs a book club and can occasionally be found at wine-tasting events led by her husband, Eduardo. She also loves dogs, swimming, hiking, photography, fashion, art and exploring new places in her home in Miami.
