Senior Account Executive – Atlanta or Orlando

As part of Poston Communications’ continued growth strategy, we are seeking a Senior Account Executive with at least four to seven years of experience in traditional and digital media relations initiatives.

The position can be located in either our Atlanta or Orlando offices.

The Senior Account Executive understands our clients’ work and business development goals and serves as a valued member of the account team, monitoring current events, proactive PR opportunities and ensuring quality of all communications.

The Senior Account Executive prepares proactive media pitches, press releases and other media relations documents on a daily basis and pitches stories to national and local media contacts by phone. He or she develops and nurtures relationships with reporters from national and local business and trade media outlets and tracks for media results and client placements.

Working with account managers and agency leadership to develop and execute media relations plans and client messaging strategies, the Senior Account Executive participates in client meetings and presentations with confidence and monitors the team’s progress and results.

Responsibilities

  • Develops account strategies particular to each client in conjunction with the team.

  • Drafts basic public relations materials, including news releases, pitches, media alerts, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status reports and other materials.

  • Observes and may collaborate with senior staff to lead client meetings, media training sessions, presentations and brainstorming sessions, all to develop a basic understanding of our clients’ work.

  • Provides ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting for secured media placements.

Requirements

  • Four to seven years of experience in a PR agency or in-house at a professional services firm. Strong preference will be given to candidates with law firm experience and / or Accreditation in Public Relations.
  • Leadership experience in work, community or civic organizations. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate their ability to influence, and to lead others and themselves well.
  • Proven ability to phone pitch journalists. Must be able to share specific and measurable examples of this during the interview process.
  • Possess exceptional time management, as well as superior verbal and writing skills.

Vice President – Atlanta

As part of Poston Communications’ continued growth strategy, we are seeking an Atlanta-based Vice President with a minimum of 10 years of experience in traditional and digital media relations initiatives.

This is a leadership role on our team and serves as a “face of our firm” to our valued clients. The individual selected will be entrepreneurial, able to work independently and is a proven self-starter. This professional should be committed to developing new business and providing new solutions to existing clients.

This results-oriented team leader is responsible for account management, including day-to-day activity, oversight of account teams and budget management of multiple high-profile clients. In addition to understanding our clients’ work and business development goals, he or she possesses presentation skills and can lead regular client meetings and presentations proactively and with confidence.

This person leads our team when it comes to the development of creative PR pitch ideas and exceptional client service. He or she will also effectively manage multiple accounts and client demands and be motivated by our fast-paced work environment.

Marketing Manager – Atlanta

As part of our continued growth strategy, we are seeking an Atlanta-based Marketing Manager to support our Chief Executive Officer with business development, sales and marketing efforts. Candidates should have at least five years of experience working in marketing, PR agencies or in any of the industries we serve.

Responsibilities

  • New business development activities, including research, creating target lists and assistance with proposal writing.
  • Work closely with agency leadership to prepare for new client pitches, business meetings and presentations.
  • Direct marketing campaigns, including print advertisements, email marketing and social media marketing.
  • Create and manage a client relationship management (CRM) system to implement effective campaigns.
  • Project manage and collaborate with other team members to produce website content, blog posts, awards submissions, bylined articles and social media posts.

2020 Summer Interns, Atlanta and Orlando

Poston Communications is accepting applications for our 2020 Summer Internship Program. Candidates will be accepted in both our Atlanta and Orlando offices.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we develop future leaders in PR. We created our Internship Program to provide hands-on experience combined with learning opportunities for recently graduated individuals, undergraduate students in their senior year of college and graduate students.

Through our PRecision Curriculum, our program covers all substantive areas that prepare our interns to take on a full-time role in our firm, as well as leadership topics, workstyle assessments and discussions on real-life career issues. Our interns are assigned to client teams, write and pitch story ideas to reporters, and coordinate media placements.

We also provide opportunities for interns to engage with the local community, through our partnerships with other organizations. These include volunteer activities, networking and educational / leadership programs.
