Business Development & Marketing Coordinator
To support our agency’s growth, we are adding a Business Development and Marketing Coordinator who will support business development, sales and marketing efforts, including proposal development, responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), and our own Poston social media, public relations and communications efforts. In addition, this position will provide daily project and administrative support to our Chief Executive Officer in his sales initiatives, including appointment scheduling, coordinating travel, communication with prospective clients and others, and special projects as assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities
- Works closely with agency leadership to prepare for new client pitches, business meetings and presentations, and track and present all opportunities in a weekly meeting.
- Directs marketing campaigns, including print advertisements, email marketing and social media marketing.
- Demonstrates exceptional client service, confidence and professionalism in all interactions.
- Manages a client relationship management (CRM) system to implement effective campaigns
- Ensures all correspondence and documents have a professional appearance and are organized in a clear, concise and professional manner with correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Directs incoming communications according to the CEO’s schedule and priorities and takes responsibility for ensuring that he is prepared for all meetings with the right documents and information.
- Prioritizes demands, handles matters expeditiously and proactively, and sees projects through to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
- Maintains and updates Outlook with current information, and schedules and maintains CEO’s extremely active calendar.
- Arranges travel and coordinates schedule.
- Researches, prioritizes and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CEO and determines appropriate course of action, referral or response.
- Deals discretely and appropriately with confidential information concerning Poston Communications and its clients.
Requirements
- Three to five years of job experience in a similar position.
- Strong written and verbal communications, administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently on projects from conception to completion but also collaborates well with the team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to see projects through with self-initiative, along with exceptional time management.
- Flexible, resourceful and enthusiastic, with the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and willingness to jump into new areas as the agency expands.
- Confidence, humility and effectiveness when dealing with agency leadership, clients and the public.
- Committed to living in a constant state of improvement, with dedication to continuous learning through engaging proactively with colleagues, asking for feedback, reviewing workstyle assessments (including the Enneagram) and implementing suggestions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Mid-Level Openings
To support our agency’s growth, we are seeking a mid-level team member, who will support Poston’s media relations team. Ideal candidates have between five and seven years of experience in traditional and digital media relations initiatives, have prior PR agency experience and have worked either inside or as a consultant to law firms or another professional services organization. Location is not a factor, as our team enjoys a distributed structure with a remote work policy.
This mid-level team member, whose title will be determined based on experience, supports our agency’s media relations clients, executing public relations plans by monitoring current events, producing proactive PR opportunities and pitching stories to national and local media contacts. He or she develops and nurtures relationships with reporters from national and local business and trade media outlets and tracks for media results and client placements.

- Drafts basic public relations materials, including news releases, pitches, media alerts, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status reports and other materials.
- Pitch by phone to journalists at local, national and trade media outlets, as well as build and nurture relationships with members of the media at top-tier business publications.
- Provides ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting for secured media placements.
- Enthusiastically represents our firm through a leadership role in trade or industry organizations.
Requirements
- Approximately five to seven years of experience in a PR agency or in-house at a professional services firm.
- Leadership experience in work, industry, community or civic organizations. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate their ability to influence and to lead others and themselves well.
- Proven ability to phone pitch journalists. Must be able to share specific and measurable examples of this during the interview process.
- Solid, demonstrated relationships with reporters at national print media outlets.
- Experience managing multiple, high-profile accounts with daily pitching requirements.
- Possess exceptional time management, as well as superior verbal and writing skills.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and a commitment to delivering top level client service.

Senior-Level Openings
As part of our continued growth strategy, we are seeking senior-level team members. Ideal candidates have a minimum of eight to 10 years of experience in traditional and digital media relations initiatives, have prior PR agency experience and have worked either inside or as a consultant to law firms or another professional services organization.
Location is not a factor, as our team enjoys a distributed structure with a remote work policy.
These are leadership roles and the individuals hired will serve as “faces of our firm” to our valued clients. These individuals must be entrepreneurial, able to work independently but with a “team player” attitude and are proven self-starters. They should be committed to developing new business and providing new solutions to existing clients.
All of our team members are responsible for account management, including day-to-day activity, oversight of account teams and budget management of multiple high-profile clients.
