Michael “Mikey” Mooney leads teams to develop and implement effective communication and integrated business development strategies for clients in highly regulated industries, including legal, accounting, financial services, executive consulting and B2B technology. He identifies creative communications solutions to advance business development objectives by developing brand messaging, leveraging strategic partnerships, generating and cultivating leads with top prospects and securing media exposure in leading national media outlets, in addition to prominent local and trade publications.
Additionally, Mikey manages agencywide operations, including information and systems management and enterprise solutions to support business needs. He is the Atlanta office leader responsible for advising on day-to-day and big-picture strategies for effective client service, team success and IT support.
In 2017, Mikey earned the Rising Star Award from PRSA Georgia, the nation’s second largest local PRSA chapter. In 2019, he begins a two-year term as director at large for the chapter and will lead the establishment of a Sponsorship Committee for the organization. He previously served on the chapter’s Annual Conference Committee for four consecutive years, including as co-chair of the 2017 event, where he coordinated the first-ever combination of the chapter’s two marquees events: the professional annual conference and the “Real World” event for college students. He also served on the PRSA International Conference Committee for the 2015 conference held in Atlanta.
Active in the community, Mikey supports Playworks, a nonprofit that works with schools to help kids stay active and build valuable life skills through play.
Mikey holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a master’s degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Georgia. At his alma mater, he mentors students in career development through the AdPR Academy.
In his free time, Mikey can be found on the golf course, watching Georgia Bulldogs football, pursuing fantasy football glory and hanging out with his loyal companions, puppy, Grit, and kitty, Blink.
