APR Month: A Celebration of Public Relations Excellence

As the flowers start to bloom and the weather gets warmer, April brings more than just springtime vibes — it’s also APR Month! APR stands for Accreditation in Public Relations, a professional certification program that demonstrates a public relations professional’s advanced knowledge, skills and abilities.

The APR credential is a rigorous certification that requires candidates to undergo a thorough assessment process, including a written exam, portfolio review and panel presentation. Only about 2,500 public relations professionals worldwide hold the APR credential, making it a highly respected and coveted designation.

At Poston Communications, we believe the APR credential is essential to our clients and the PR industry.

Vice President Kali Hammond said she believes the APR credential is a significant differentiator for public relations professionals.

“In a crowded and competitive marketplace, the APR sets me apart from my peers. It shows that I have taken the time and effort to learn and master the skills necessary to succeed in this industry,” Hammond said.

The APR credential is not only valuable to individual public relations professionals but also to clients. It provides assurance that they are working with a knowledgeable and skilled professional who has met a rigorous set of standards. It also elevates the profession and establishes a set of standards that public relations professionals can strive to meet.

This April, we celebrate APR Month by recognizing the hard work and dedication of APR-certified professionals. We are proud to have these individuals on our team and we believe they are an essential part of our commitment to delivering high-quality results to our clients.
