Leslie Valenza is a communications and media specialist with 15 years of legal marketing experience. Before joining Poston Communications, she worked for nearly 10 years at an Am Law 100 firm where she collaborated with practice chairs, office managing partners and other leaders to elevate the firm’s brand in key markets and industries. As manager of media relations, she conducted targeted media outreach, advised on social media strategy and created internal and external content, including videos.
During her five-year stint at a Washington, D.C.-based media and crisis communications firm, Leslie managed national media campaigns for clients in the legal services, nonprofit, biotechnology, food and beverage, and telecommunications sectors. She secured placements in leading print and broadcast media outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal and CNN, as well as regional and industry trade publications. Her experience includes securing nationwide media coverage relating to the 9/11 Commission Report, a high-profile missing person case, and a Federal Trade Commission suit against a New York Times bestselling author.
Leslie is editor of the Legal Marketing Association’s Mid-Atlantic Region newsletter. She has volunteered for a range of nonprofit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Raise A Child and the Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival, for which she led the organization’s first East Coast event in Richmond, Virginia.
